Biomass

We work on biomass projects that use organic material from different sources as a source of energy production by using boilers or reactors where materials such as vegetable and agricultural waste, wood waste and other biodegradable waste, used as fuels, are burnt, offering different advantages, the main one being the generation of energy in an economical and renewable way.

Organic materials can be processed into bioenergy - electricity, heat, biomethane and biofuels - and into high value-added bioproducts for different industries such as food, petrochemicals and cosmetics.

Types of Biomass

  • Forest biomass.
  • Agricultural biomass.
  • Livestock biomass.
  • Industrial biomass.
  • Household biomasses (from municipal waste)

How are they processed?

  1. Combustion, which releases energy (in the form of steam - heat - or electricity) from the combustion of biomass.
  2. Anaerobic digestion, which decomposes matter by the action of micro-organisms in the absence of oxygen, generating biogas that can be used for energy.
